Apprenticeship programme in India is from six months to one year, this is for imparting on job training or practical knowledge to educated & technically qualified youth with skills required in their field of work. The Apprentices are trained by the establishments at their place of work thru existing, experienced & trained managers with well developed training modules to ensure that Apprentices learn the job quickly and competently. During the period of apprenticeship, the apprentices are also paid a stipend by employers &for facilitation of this mandatory compliance employers are reimbursed stipend support sum up to25% to 50% of thestipend amount by Government of India. Establishments are also provided with option of approved “Third Party Aggregators (TPA)” for smooth enrolment & operations. At the end of the training period followed by successful assessment the apprentices are issued an Certificate of Proficiency by Government of India, which can be registered at all employment exchanges across India as valid employment experience.
